Timothy Towne

Timothy Towne was born and raised in the Los Angeles area. In 1995, Tim and his family moved to the Central Coast. He is a graduate of Los Angeles Harbor College (1980-82—Associate of Arts, Music) and California State University, Dominguez Hills (1982-84—Bachelor of Arts, Music). From 1980 to 1986 Tim performed as a percussionist with the 562nd Air Force Band (California Air National Guard). Tim also holds an MBA in Management Information Systems and the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certificate.
When not playing drums Tim works as an Information Assurance Engineer. Tim began his formal drum studies in 1979 with Bill Douglass. His other teachers include John Perett and Wayne Robinson. The person who most influenced Tim's approach to playing is Master Teacher Richard Wilson. During his 5 years of study with Richard, Tim developed his relaxed playing style, accurate meter, and greatly improved his sight reading skills.
